I have been an ardent fan of Banks’s since his brilliant debuts in the 1980s with Wasp Factory and as a sci-fi writer with Consider Phlebas. So sorry to hear that he may not last out the year.
Next there’ll be the news that the guy who mowed down Stephen King has risen from the grave (he’s dead) and run him over again because as we all know ‘sometimes they come back…’
